Linoprint LOST

The illustration was created from a dream I had. A dream in which steps to a bright future were actually very clear, but at that time so unattainable.

For example, I dreamed of a free life, in which I sailed solo through the beautiful nature of the Alps in my canoe. In the evening, looking for a place to sleep, I found a jetty. The jetty was not otherwise accessible from land, only from water. I pitched my tent there under the beautiful starry sky with a full moon. In the middle of the night I was startled awake: enormous storm, rain and thunderstorms swept over. It was so intense that I decided to get out of my tent to see what was happening. What I saw was incredible. A crystal clear night and a river that had completely dried up! There was nowhere to go. My canoe was hanging by a string along the posts of the jetty, there was no more water to navigate on. A feeling of despair and helplessness came over me. As I turned around on the dock, I saw the beautiful landscape visible through the bright light of the full moon. I had to focus on that: that which I cannot reach yet, but towards which I can work. My dreams for the future. Everything will be all right.
